EMadlangeni Local Municipality launched ward 2 war-room.
EMadlangeni Local Municipality and Operation Sukuma Sakhe (OSS) recently launched ward 2 war -room at Utrecht.
Deputy Mayor Cllr Ntsiki Ndlovu who is also a champion in ward 2 emphasized in his remarks the need to prioritise service delivery for the community and to resolve the challenges of inequality.
He further highlighted the social ills affecting our community such as issues of substance abuse, teenage pregnancy, domestic abuse and the alarming crime rate.
He encouraged a collective effort by all stakeholders towards service delivery for the community. He further explained the new ward demarcations to all present.
The Local Task Team (LTT) chairperson, Mr Mafika Khanyile, said that members of the LTT will be tasked with supporting the war-room, he also spoke about the social ills in our community and that we need to have a clear action plan on how to deal with these social ills.
He further indicated that the war room needs to have an induction on its roles in Operation Sukuma Sakhe and emphasized the importance of profiling and that they need to deal with challenges that exist pertaining to profiling.
The Emadlangeni LM Special Programmes Officer informed attendees that there will be elections for the establishments of forums for different sectors in all wards of eMadlangeni.
The Executive Committee of the war room are: Sheila Mpisane, Ntongolozi Bophela, Ntombikayise Khumalo and Busisiwe Mazibuko.
