Cllr. Buthelezi started by contesting elections in 2016 as a ward candidate for IFP with no luck but he kept on pushing until his goal was fulfilled when was elected and became Mayor where now he makes sure that the eMadlangeni community sees the difference.

Cllr Buthelezi’s vision is to see that change happens for eMadlangeni residents where all wards have electricity, water, roads, and other infrastructure. His greatest vision is to see Utrecht attract investors to invest and improve the life of residents.

eMadlangeni has a lot of mines which he hopes he can create a solid partnership with and the Municipality and the mines can work together to create employment for the youth of Emadlangeni.
